About the event
The F.Q. Story Home & Garden Tour has been Phoenix's oldest and most celebrated historic home tour tradition for over 40 years. The F.Q. Story Home and Garden Tour and Holiday Marketplace focuses on the vibrancy of historic neighborhoods while supporting efforts to preserve and protect them.
The tour began in the mid-1980s as a grassroots fundraising effort to help secure historic designation for the F.Q. Story neighborhood as construction of Interstate 10 sliced through, threatening its historic character by the demolition of homes, and physically dividing the community. Residents came together to showcase the beauty and craftsmanship of their homes and to build support for preserving the neighborhood's unique identity.
As we celebrate our 40th tour, we honor the generations of neighbors, volunteers, and preservation advocates whose efforts helped ensure that F.Q. Story remains a thriving historic neighborhood for future generations.
