The Story of Story

Our Centennial Celebration

Click play below and let Christopher McPherson welcome you to our Story.

Welcome to the F. Q. Story neighborhood for our 36th annual home tour! We weren’t about to let a pandemic sideline our home tour tradition, especially as we mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of our neighborhood.

In this virtual tour, you will get a look at the exteriors and interiors of the period architecture styles that have drawn thousands to our tours over the last three and a half decades. And you can spend as much time as you want checking out period restorations or that charming fold-down ironing board in the kitchen without having to worry about moving along with a crowd.

Today, the FQ Story neighborhood covers about 600 homes and boasts a thriving community that spans residents who bought their first home here and never left to newly arrived residents who bring new energy to the area.

Our historic neighborhoods are truly the heart of our city. The people who live and invest in our historic neighborhoods are the careful keepers of our city’s physical history. F.Q. Story has one of the most diverse collections of architectural styles of all our historic districts. It is also one of our most active neighborhood organizations, as demonstrated by continuing their annual home tour via a virtual platform during these unprecedented times. As such, F.Q. Story continues to find a way to contribute to the economy, culture, and social fabric of our city.

Best wishes,
Laura Pastor
Councilwoman, District 4

And finally, a huge THANK YOU to all who contributed in the way of photos, videos, stories and time to make this virtual tour happen. As always, we couldn't have done it without you!
